Qualifications

  1. Meet the Highly Qualified definition as set forth by No Child Left Behind Legislation.  Methods for achieving this status include:  Associates Degree from an Accredited Institution, 60 college credits from an accredited institution, pass an assessment of basic skills:  ACT WorkKeys, ETS Praxis, or Michigan Test for Teacher Certification
  2. Have a high school diploma
  3. Experience and desire to work with adolescent children with varied academic abilities.
  4. Experience working with small groups and individual children on a variety of activities.
  5. Basic understanding of adolescent childhood development and appropriate discipline strategies to use with middle school children.
  6. Testing may be required.

 

Job Duties

1.Assist classroom teacher with small group instruction

2.Ability to carry out assessments as directed by supervising teacher.

3.Ability to work with 5th – 8th grade students with a variety of academic skills.

4.Other duties as assigned by the principal or Superintendent.

Salary: Wages and benefits in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Chesaning Union School District and Chesaning Union Auxiliary Service Federation of Teachers Local 4203, MFT & SRP/AFT, AFL-CIO.

Position Length: June 26 – July 26, 2017, Monday - Thursday, 8:00am - 12:00pm
