Summit Academy is currently seeking a positive, creative and energetic School Leader/Principal to join our Summit Family! MEP Services seeks an enthusiastic, proven instructional leader for Summit Academy with approximately 400 students, grades preK-8. The successful candidate will be a student-oriented educator with a background of quality teaching and administrative experience. The ability to develop a collaborative and constructive school culture with a climate of excellence for students, faculty and families is essential. We seek a knowledgeable and inspiring educator, committed to excellence and the belief that all students can succeed. Minimum Education Requirements MA in Educational Leadership or related area Michigan Administrator Certification or in process for completion within 3 years Minimum of 5 years successful teaching experience and leading, which included a Title I program Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Leading Instruction Communicate a clear, consistent, results-oriented vision for school-wide instructional practice; Develop and implement high-quality educational programs with innovation to maintain current enrolment and attract prospective students; Drive ongoing improvement in the quality of instruction through feedback, coaching, and professional development; Lead a process of continuous improvement through the systematic collection, analysis, and response to a diverse set of data; Monitor curriculum implementation to ensure fidelity while thoughtfully empowering teacher autonomy and creativity; Introduce up-to-date technology and teaching approaches, assure utilization appropriately apply them to students of different grades and of different learning styles; Leading School Culture Develop strong relationships with families and students, creating investment around social-emotional learning, school culture, and the Summit Academy mission, and coach teachers in doing the same Work with staff to communicate regularly with families regarding school policies, events, and student progress Lead all staff and students in establishing a positive, achievement-oriented, and fun school culture Oversee students’ academic and behavioral program, including disciplinary decisions, enforcement of the Student Handbook; Create and maintain a safe, equitable, encouraging, and student-centered learning environment that is beneficial to both the cognitive development and the academic growth of children; Increase enrollment and student retention within the district. Leading a Team Inspire and motivate staff to achieve the Summit Academy mission and goals and to model Summit Academy core values Establish achievable goals and criteria to evaluate teaching performance of all teaching staff, and develop an incentive system to motivate teachers to improve their teaching and foster better learning outcomes among students; Foster the development of a high-performing staff through systematic procedures for hiring, goal-setting, supervision, support, evaluation, retention, and dismissal Supervise and support the school’s leadership team in accomplishing the school’s goals Leading with Others Engage in constant personal learning, including the need to learn and adapt when faced with challenges and successes Share effective curricular and instructional practices from and with other schools To learn more about Summit Academy Schools, please check us out at www.summit-academy.com.
