Position Details: 

REPORTS TO:              Saginaw ISD Superintendent or Designee

OPENING:                      One (1) full-time, 12 month position (262 days) for the 2018-2019 school year. Expected start date of July 1, 2018.

COMPENSATION:        Annual Salary of $80,000 - $82,000 with an extensive fringe benefit package which includes options for medical, dental and vision coverage in addition to life and long term disability insurances.



  1. Serve as the Coordinator of the Great Lakes Bay Early College SISD program that reaches across the Great Lakes Bay region providing early college experiences to local secondary students.
  2. Oversee day-to-day operations of the Great Lakes Bay Early College.
  3. Collaborate with multiple stakeholders including: local school districts, parents, and college/university faculty and staff.
  4. Supervise and mentor instructional staff and conduct performance evaluations of GLBEC staff members.
  5. Work with students on a focus of career pathways that may lead to program completion, general requirements, or CTE path.
  6. Create and coordinate a personal curriculum process for students.
  7. Inform business and education partners of progress, opportunities, and potentialities.
  8. Create strong partnerships with local school districts across the Great Lakes Bay Region.
  9. Establish and foster connections with SVSU and Delta College.
  10. Seek additional funding from current and future state funding sources (example, 61b).
  11. Serve as the program’s BAA Coordinator.
  12. Coordinate and administer all required state assessments.
  13. Create a strong parent communication/involvement component.
  14. Create a long-term vision for the program that will increase student participation.
  15. Develop and implement a communication and marketing plan for the program.
  16. Coordinate and complete all state and district required reports and plans (School Improvement Plan, Program Evaluation, etc.).
  17. Work closely with the SISD Business/Finance Department to ensure a healthy budget for the program.
  18. All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.



  1. Possess a master’s degree in Educational Leadership or School Counseling.
  2. A minimum of three (3) years demonstrated successful leadership experience in education or industry.
  3. Preferred school counseling endorsement.
  4. Experience leading individuals and teams towards improvement goals.
  5. Evidence of capacity to create partnerships between multiple agencies.
  6. Evidence of capacity to move ideas from concept to implementation.
  7. Michigan Education Administration Certificate, or ability to complete within three (3) years.
