The following position is available:
Secretary to the Superintendent
Deadline Date: April 24, 2018 until filled
Beginning Date: June 18, 2018
Qualifications:
- Able to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of people.
- Show evidence of strong technological skills as it pertains to word processing, spreadsheets, and software utilized by the District.
- Able to maintain high levels of confidentiality regarding student, staff, community, and Board of Education matters.
- Capable of handling difficult situations that arise in a calm, professional, and respectful manner.
- Possess excellent communication skills in writing and speaking, including the ability to compose memorandums/letters.
- Attain and maintain Michigan Notary Public status.
- Demonstrate evidence of initiative and flexibility in performing job responsibilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage projects without direct supervision.
- Punctuality and excellent attendance are requirements for this position.
Duties:
- Serve as confidential secretary to Superintendent with responsibilities that include but are not limited to managing office details that relieve the Superintendent of routine requests and matters; maintain schedule and coordinate appointments; compose and draft all correspondence; maintain extensive files, confidential information, and accurate records.
- Support to Board of Education with responsibilities that include but are not limited to develop meeting agendas and related materials for all Board of Education meetings; attend and serve as recording secretary at meetings; prepare transcribed minutes and follow-up actions, make arrangements for conferences; election liaison; maintain and update all district policies approved by the Board of Education.
- Serve as District’s Pupil Accounting Coordinator, which includes maintaining non-resident and School of Choice information.
- Maintain employee criminal history records.
- Responsible for state reports such as REP, SID, EEM, Civil Rights, etc.
- Maintain all employment contracts and seniority records.
- All other duties as requested by Superintendent.
