High School Assistant Principal

Responsibilities may include:

 

Curriculum and Instruction

  • Assist in data processing procedures; report cards, progress reports and student records
  • Assist in development and adjustment of the Master Schedule
  • Assist in monitoring and overseeing school instructional curriculum
  • Organize and maintain student data and grading information – OurSchoolData, Mastery Manager, College Board K-12 Reporting Tool and PowerSchool
  • Responsible for evaluation of teachers, paraprofessional and support staff assigned to Hudsonville High School/Freshman Campus

 

Student Support/Behavior

  • Assist in the maintenance of student discipline
  • Assist with Renaissance Program (student recognition program)
  • Communicating with students, staff, and parents regarding student attendance/discipline
  • Monitor and oversee student intervention programs
  • Organization of Alternative Learning Center and detention programs
  • Student attendance procedures/monitoring/truancy/CEPI reporting

 

Systems Management

  • Assist in administration of large group assessment - SAT, ACT, M-Step, AP, etc.
  • Assist in coordinating and communicating Advisory activities
  • Assist in keeping NCAA Eligibility Center information up to date
  • Assist in maintaining HS Social media accounts
  • Assist in organizing and coordinating Open Houses
  • Assist in organizing and coordinating P/T Conferences
  • Assist in oversight of student enrollment
  • Assist in supervision of extra curricular events
  • Assume administrative duties of the principal in his/her absence
  • Coordinate fundraising for student activities
  • Implement and support policy requirements/legislative requirements from the Board, State, and/or Federal levels
  • Monitor substitute teachers
  • Participate in appropriate committees as assigned
  • Plan and conduct fire and lock down drills
  • Represent the building principal at various functions as needed
  • Responsible for student teacher assignments
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Maintain a current administrative certificate.
  • Masters Degree and three years of successful teaching experience.
  • Valid Teaching certificate.
