1st Grade Teacher
Location: Stewart Elementary, Lakeshore Public Schools, Stevensville, MI 49127
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Education from an accredited college or university
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with Elementary endorsement
- Highly Qualified by ESSA Standards
- Prior elementary teaching/student teaching experience
- Developmental philosophy of working with young children
- Experience with differentiated instruction strategies to benefit all learners and meet the needs of individual students
- Displays a strong knowledge of elementary common core Math and ELA standards
- Establish positive learning environment with effective and appropriate routines and procedures
- Collaborate with a team of positive, dedicated & high-performing educators
- Can interpret data and plan interventions accordingly
- Use technology to enhance lessons and stay current with changing trends
- Must demonstrate ability to connect with all students and actively engage them in learning
- Communicates well with a variety of audiences both verbally and in writing
- Enthusiastic, energetic & highly organized
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding and/or experience with Professional Learning Communities (PLC) training
- Fountas and Pinnell Training (use of running records)
- Readers Workshop
