Position Details: 

Compensation Range: $25,000k with performance compensation options.

Work Days: .5 fte (full time equivalency) with flexible schedule.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Manages and supervises Varsity head coaches who oversee assistant and JV coaches in the Athletic Department.  Manages athletics for middle school sports. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include: oversight of community center, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned)    

  • Manage and Lead Athletic Personnel.
  • Manage and Promote Athletic Events.
  • Oversee Facilities related to Athletics.
  • Assists in selecting, assigning, and evaluating all coaching personnel.
  • Assumes leadership role in the orientation and in service training of coaching personnel.
  • Represents the School District in matters of interscholastic athletics with the MHSAA.
  • Represents the School District in matters of interscholastic athletics with each secondary league of affiliation.
  • Is responsible for the organization and scheduling of athletic events.
  • Contracts officials for all home contests.
  • Arranges transportation for away contests.
  • Responsible for game management and crowd control
  • Develops and continues to evaluate appropriate rules and regulations governing the conduct of athletic activities.
  • Fosters good school-parent relations by maintaining communications relative to rules and regulations on athletics.
  • Establishes and enforces the physical, academic and training requirements of eligibility for participation.
  • Oversight of Fitness Center/Area.


  • Courses in the organization and administration of programs;
  • Minimum three years’ experience as a coach.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Individual must satisfactorily pass:
