Executive Director for District and School Services

Oakland Schools is an autonomous, tax-supported public school district governed by Michigan General School Laws and is one of 56 intermediate school districts (ISDs) established in Michigan in 1962.

SALARY DETAILS:

$127,745 - $145,878 annually / Exempt position / 12-month work year

IN THIS ROLE:

You will provide vision and leadership for the District and School Services Department.

 

WHAT WE NEED:

We are seeking a critical thinker, who is collaborative, customer focused and goal driven to provide leadership in the building of educator and student capacity. Your leadership experience in instruction, school culture and climate, curriculum, assessment, school leadership, and school improvement will be key in meeting the needs of diverse educator and student populations. You will supervise staff, determine department priorities, and develop and monitor budgets and grants.  You will also provide leadership to local, state and national committees, associations and organizations.

 

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Master’s degree in Education. Education Specialist or Doctorate preferred.
  • Valid Michigan School Administrator Certificate or ability to meet the requirements for a School Administrator Permit and obtain the School Administrator Certificate within three years of employment.
  • Ten or more years of related experience including supervision of staff. Central Office leadership preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in curriculum, instruction, school leadership, school improvement, assessment, and school culture and climate.
  • Demonstrated expertise planning and conducting professional learning.
  • Ability to manage budgets and grants.
  • Understanding of a continuous improvement cycle.

 

WHAT WE PROVIDE:

Salary Range of $127,745 - $145,878 annually.
