Position Details: 

Second Grade Teaching Position ~ Franklin Elementary School


Qualifications and requirements:

  • Must have knowledge of Michigan grade level curriculum and accompanying assessments
  • Must be Michigan Teacher Certified in Elementary Education
  • Must meet NCLB definition of Highly Qualified


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate learning.
  • Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction and engage students in the learning process.
  • Establish classroom community that values positive relationships through intentional implementation of the district curriculum and support the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports system
  • Support non-academic needs through the student support network district system of all students in order to remove barriers that interfere with academic success.
  • Exhibit an ability to work within the Professional Learning Communities method of curriculum development.
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and needs.
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.

  • The skill and ability to make data-informed instructional decisions that impact student learning and provide differentiated learning for ALL students.
  • The capacity to align curriculum, instruction and assessments while responding to individual needs of students;
  • The ability to seek out knowledgeable peers, coaches or administrators for instructional support in the never- ending quest to deliver the vision of high quality subject- specific instruction in every class period of every day.
