Position Details: 




  • Must be Highly Qualified and Possess a Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate for the Appropriate Grade Level with a ZA or ZS Early Childhood Endorsement.
  • Must have the ability to differentiate instruction, motivate, and academically challenge children.
  • Must possess a valid driver license.
  • Must have a willingness to support students within a home setting.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Responsible for planning, assessment, and instruction of Early Childhood Curriculum.



  • Implement adopted curriculum subject matter standards and assessment instruments to meet school and district goals.
  • Know and utilize technology in the teaching and learning process.
  • Collaborate with teachers and administrators to improve achievement in the content areas.
  • Complete assorted GSRP paperwork.
  • Conduct home visits.
  • Recognize and respond to individual differences in students.
  • Implement a variety of teaching methods that result in high student achievement.
  • Work cooperatively with parents, colleagues, support staff andsupervisors.
  • Display a genuine love of teaching students.
  • Implement full inclusion techniques for special education students.
  • Differentiate instruction for a variety of developmental stages and ability levels.
  • Write, speak and present well.
  • Develop critical thinking skills with students.
  • Relate to parents and other community members, individual and corporate, in a positive and helpful fashion.
  • Implement conflict-resolution strategies for both adults and students.
  • Use a variety of assessment techniques and/or models to evaluate student performance.
  • Utilize data to improve student instruction.
  • Participate in professional development.
  • Lift up to fifty pounds in case of an emergency.
  • Must be able to fully participate in all classroom activities which may include, but are not limited to:
    • sitting on the floor
    • bending
    • reaching
    • participation in outdoor and gymnasium activities
