Position:          Technology Support Specialist

Availability:    Immediate

 

Position Summary: Provide district-wide technology support to the staff and students to meet their educational goals and to ensure minimal disruption to the learning environment and operations of the classroom and building; and to support the technology requirements for the day-to-day operations of the district.

Principal Duties:

  • Provide support / troubleshooting via phone and in the field
  • Repair, image, inventory, and install software on computers and other devices
  • Troubleshoot and repair printers
  • Move equipment both within a building and between buildings
  • Prioritize, track and report on technology work hours
  • Assist the Technology System Administrator
  • Assist staff in the utilization of standard software package features
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, clean and repair network equipment, computers and peripherals
  • Answer questions and help users become efficient in the application of current and new technology
  • Provide training (when applicable) on the use and operation of equipment and software

Essential Skills:

 

  • Identify, research, and resolve technology related problems
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong help-desk, customer first attitude
  • Ability to learn new computer systems quickly
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Basic understanding of WDS (Windows Deployment Services)
  • Working knowledge or Windows 7/8/10
  • Working knowledge of Mac OS X 10.11 – 10.13
  • Working knowledge of Google Apps For Education administration
  • Working knowledge of both iOS and Android device deployment
  • Basic understanding of network infrastructure, both wired and wireless

 

Beneficial Skills:

  • Basic programming / scripting skills
  • Knowledge of Active Directory
  • Computer repair knowledge

Hours: Approx. 40 hours per week

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour depending on experience

Work Year: 12 months
