POSITION:                     K-12 Special Education Classroom Teacher

DESCRIPTION:             Looking for a full time special education teacher with preferred emphasis in mathematics or language arts.  Join our team for an exciting opportunity to work with students and be involved in an amazing school and community. Flexible start date.  

QUALIFICATIONS:      Applicant must possess a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with certification to teach Special Education and must meet Highly Qualified requirements.  The students to be served include, but are not limited to: certified as LD, EI, and CI.  Certification should be appropriate (SE, SM, SA) to service these areas.  Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work with a team.  Must demonstrate superior knowledge in remedial strategies and techniques, current educational research, the IEPC process, instruments for evaluation at all levels, classroom student observation techniques and reporting; and must be willing to communicate with staff, parents, administrators, and students regarding student progress, behavior and academic success.  Must be able to write Special Education goals and objectives, assist with and/or administer special education assessments such as MI-Access, and participate with the creation of behavioral intervention plans. Secondary teaching experience preferred.

Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job responsibility.

SALARY:                       According to the terms of the Master Agreement.
