Qualifications: 

  •  Minimum high school diploma
  •  CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) trained Previous experience with students who have an emotional impairment, fetal alcohol syndrome, autistic spectrum disorder, health related needs or have behavioral problems. 

Description: 

SUPERVISES:         NA

JOB GOAL:  Will work under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher or school social worker to enhance the participation of the learner in the school community.

ASSIGNED RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Will assist student with making good choices.
  2. Will be proactive in regards to helping student avoid severe behaviors.
  3. May need to restrain student if behavior becomes out of control.
  4. Will protect teacher and other students if student’s behavior becomes severe.
  5. Will help student become more independent.
  6. Will help to minimize disruptions in the general education classroom.
  7. Facilitate student’s participation in general education classroom.
  8. Will assist with instructional modifications and accommodations.
  9. Will assist with communicative programs.
  10. Will assist with health related procedures.
  11. Will facilitate social relationships with peers.
  12. Will monitor behavior interventions.
  13. Support student with academics.
  14. Ability to be flexible and follow directions from the student’s team.
