Position Details: 

Qualifications:

1) Bachelor's degree or higher with valid Michigan Teacher License.

2) HVAC endorsement preferred.
 
3)Valid Michigan occupational/vocational certification in related pathway preferred, or eligible for certification (minimum 4,000 recent and relevant hours of work experience in the field within the past ten years or willing to pursue required credentials).

Duties/Responsibilities:

1) Plan a program of study that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of all students.

2) Teach the state approved standards for CIP Code 47.0201.

3) Deliver instruction in all 12 segments during the first year.

4) Take all necessary safety precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facility.

5) Complete crosswalks for all foundation skills.

6) Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals established by district.

7) Organize and facilitate a minimum of 2 advisory committee meetings each year.

8) Provide a work-based learning and CTSO experience for each student.

9) Assess and measure student growth.

10) Update curriculum, articulation and CIP Self-review each year.
 
11) Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and district policy.

12) Keep teacher certification current through local, state and national professional development opportunities, or must be willing to obtain occupational certification or annual authorization.

13) Strive to maintain and improve professional competence (certification/requirements).

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.
