QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess an administrative certificate or a Masters Degree and appropriate coursework to meet state requirements for administrative certification.
  • Must hold a valid Michigan teaching certificate.
  • Minimum three years successful administrative experience preferably at the high school level.
  • Ability to set high expectations for self and others and hold staff accountable.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum, instruction and assessment.
  • Excellent ability to relate to students, parents, staff, administration and community.
  • Ability to lead others in pursuit of educational excellence.
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Exhibit emotional stability and physical stamina necessary for meeting the requirements of the position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operation of the facility in which the high school program is housed.
  • The organization and supervision of all certified and non-certified personnel assigned to the principal.
  • Leadership for curricular and extra-curricular program development.
  • Establish and promote high standards and expectations for all students and staff for academic performance.
  • Direct and implement school improvement at the building level.
  • Assignment, placement, and supervision of students in a high school with an enrollment of approximately 1700 students.

SALARY: Salary commensurate with experience and training.
