Location: Tecumseh High School  -  Immediate Supervisor:  Building Principal
 

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
  • Valid Michigan teaching certificate – Biology required (DX/DI/DA) with a Chemistry endorsement preferred (DC)
  • Demonstrated skills in the use of technology
  • Relevant experience desirable
  • Ability and willingness to work in a team setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

 

General Information/Duties:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess learner instruction
  • Teacher will be a team member, working with others to improve teaching techniques, relations with the community, and school environment 
  • Flexibility and adaptability is expected in working in the classroom and with other staff
  • Knowledge of the academic, social and emotional needs of learners is required
  • Teacher is expected to make a commitment to continuous improvement through training and the use of technology
  • Teacher is expected to be involved in sponsoring, overseeing, coaching or supervising extra-curricular activities, if applicable
  • Participate in district-wide professional development
  • Successful teaching and leadership experience and familiarity with Customized Learning concepts
  • Serve as an active member in the District Strategic Design process
  • Alignment to the Mission and Vision of Tecumseh Public Schools

 

Terms of Employment:

Full-time position. All terms per Master Contract between Board of Education and the Tecumseh Education Association/MEA.
