ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a valid Michigan teaching certificate.
  • Fulfill the qualifications to be Highly Qualified under NCLB for the appropriate certification (passing MTTC test scores).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students and community.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership that results in collaborative working relationships and student achievement gains.
  • Knowledge (experienced preferred) of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
  • Ability to work cooperatively with all stakeholders in developing Individualized Reading Intervention Plans (IRIPs). 

 

Special Considerations:

  • Proficient use of appropriate assessment data tools such as, but not limited to, M-STEP and Star Reading, NWEA, to drive instructional planning, including differentiated instruction and intervention decisions.
  • Maintain accurate records to monitor student progress and disaggregate data.
  • Work positively with students, parents, and school staff to foster a strong and positive learning community.
  • Participate in school activities as a member of the school community.
