Pansophia Academy in Cold Water is currently seeking a School Principal

Pansophia is located in Coldwater, MI and serves a rural community that comes from diverse backgrounds and needs. As a K-12 single-building public school academy, Pansophia builds on its strengths as a family school with rich community involvement, numerous field trips and experiences for children, and a curriculum that employs technology to prepare students for an unpredictable 21st century economy.

The staff at Pansophia Academy works collaboratively to creatively meet the needs of our students by; studying data, designing units and lessons, and providing meaningful educational experiences, tailored to students from diverse backgrounds and experiences. 


  • Report to the Board of Directors on the Academy’s progress and needs.
  • Recruit students and maintain a stable student base.
  • Attend Board meetings and provide agendas and minutes for those meetings.
  • Direct curriculum development, while incorporating the ideas of parents, students, staff, and business staff.
  • Recruit, hire, supervise and evaluate professional staff.
  • Lead school reform initiatives aligned with the Academy’s strategic plan.
  • Establish school calendar and class schedule.
  • Maintain positive parent and community relations
  • Ensure compliance with authorizer, as well as the State Department of Education including all required reporting.
  • Determine the annual budget and operate the entire program within the budget.
  • Oversee the purchase of equipment and supplies.
  • Provide student with support and advice related to academic, career and technical performance.
  • Maintain student achievement database and use achievement data in teacher evaluations.
  • Work with staff to assure student compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Articulates and maintains mission, beliefs, philosophy, and methods of the Academy.
  • Minimum Requirements
  • • Must have M.A. in Education
    • Must have 5+ years teaching experience and demonstrated leadership ability
    • Must have a satisfactory background check
    • Must comply with all applicable law related to the Administrator’s certificate
    • Must meet continuing education requirements as prescribed by rules promulgated by the State of Michigan, as applicable

  • Experience with instructional leadership, including demonstrated knowledge of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and developing teachers

  • Excellent organization, time management and follow-up skills; high sense of urgency; demonstrated ability to successfully handle multiple projects concurrently; ability to work as a team
