ABOUT EUPISD
The Eastern Upper Peninsula Intermediate School District (EUPISD) encompasses all of the local school districts in Chippewa, Luce, and Mackinac Counties, plus Seney Township in Schoolcraft County.  It is the largest of Michigan’s 56 intermediate school districts in geography covering approximately 4,000 square miles.  EUPISD leads cooperative partnerships with local school districts to share expertise and reduce costs, ultimately helping to improve student achievement. 
 
Our mission is to serve the Eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan in collaboration with constituent districts to provide an exemplary education for all students by supporting a rigorous, accessible, innovative, and efficient regional system.

SUPERINTENDENT
The superintendent serves as chief administrative officer of the organization featuring departments of general education, special education, early childhood, business and human resources, and technology.  EUPISD employs approximately 130 team members located throughout the Eastern Upper Peninsula from the Central Office located in Sault Ste. Marie.  The organization is overseen by a seven-member board elected by local school districts and representing our vast geography.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
EUPISD is seeking a strong, passionate leader who possesses the following qualities, characteristics, and skills:

  • Valid Michigan Administrator certificate
  • Minimum educational level of MA or higher in a relevant field
  • Minimum of five years of successful school leadership experience, superintendent preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership in the profession through active participation at the local, regional, and state levels
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated success with financial and operational management, long range planning, and curriculum and instruction
  • The highest level of personal and professional ethics, personal integrity, and trust

 
SALARY AND CONTRACT INFORMATION
The district will offer a competitive, multi-year contract commensurate with the education and experience of the successful candidate with a salary range between $120,000 and $125,000.
