Position Details: 

Hill-McCloy High School is looking for a Mechatronics Instructor for the 2020-21 school year.  Montrose Community Schools is part of the Great Lakes Advance Manufacturing Collaboration, which just received a three million dollar grant under the Marshall Plan ($500,000 earmarked to Hill-McCloy High School).  This program will deliver national, portable, competency-based skill certifications, aligned to secondary and post-secondary programs of study and to industry relevant training needed for employment in advance manufacturing.  We are looking for an instructor whom wants to be part of an innovative program and collaboration.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Must meet one of the three options below:

1. Valid MDE CTE Teacher Certification with one of the following endorsements:

a. Mechatronics (14.4201)

b. Electro-Mechanical Technology (15.0403)

c. Electro-Mechanical Technology (47.0199)

d. Industrial Production (15.0612)

 

2. Valid MDE Teacher Certification with Industrial Technology (IX) or Technology and Design (TX) endorsements and one of the following CTE endorsements:

a. Electrical, Electronics, & Comm Engineer (14.1001)

b. Electronics (17.1002)

 

3. Be eligible for an Annual Occupational Authorization (must meet the below criteria)

a. High School Graduate or GED

b. 4,000 hours relevant work experience in the last 10 years (with the most recent work within 6 years)

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Experience teaching Mechatronics

 

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Mechatronics is a two-year program that combines principles and skills from several areas vital to modern day manufacturing. Electrical, Mechanical, Fluid (Hydraulics and Pneumatics), Computer Control and Automation/Robotics systems are included in Mechatronics. Through a combination of classroom and intense laboratory exposures, students are prepared for entry into a range of career opportunities throughout the manufacturing, healthcare, architecture, and other sectors of the economy.
