Position Details: 



 The Oak Park School District has an opening for an ELA Teacher at Oak Park Preparatory Academy for the 2019-2020 School year.


1.      Possess a Bachelor's or Master's Degree.

2.      Possess a standard Michigan Teaching Certificate with secondary (BX) or (BD) endorsement.

3.      Must be highly qualified.


1.      Teach the district curriculum appropriate for the subjects and grade level assigned.

2.      Maintain proper forms and records as required by the District and the State.

3.      Maintain proper classroom discipline.

4.      Maintain communications with parents, students and staff.

5.      Administer appropriate standardized tests.

6.      Participate in in-service training as assigned.

7.      Participate on School Committees.

8.      Participate in school related activities.

9.      Any other duties assigned by the Principal, or designee.

Essential functions, include, but are not limited to:

1.      The ability to handle elevated stress and noise levels

2.      Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relations with others.

3.      The ability to work independently.

4.      Report to work on a punctual, and reliable basis, with a physical presence on site at the school.

5.      Physical activity with students, including frequent bending, kneeling, standing for long periods, occasionally lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds.

6.      Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds.

This position is part of the Oak Park Education Association bargaining unit.

Salary: Contractual rate of pay.
