POSITION:               Long-Term Substitute Elementary Teacher – 1st Grade 

LOCATION:             Oakwood Elementary School

DATE:        January 6, 2019 through March 2, 2019 (tentatively)

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  1. Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate grade level endorsement K-5 all subjects.
  2. Highly Qualified to teach K-5 as per Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requirements.

 

 ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS:

  1. Knowledge of Michigan Common Core Standards
  2. Exceptional skills in planning, delivering and assessing student learning
  3. Effective  communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills for building collegial relationships with students, parents, and colleagues 
  4. Demonstrate knowledge of how to provide effective and engaging instruction in a variety of settings (whole group, small group, individual and collaborative)
  5. Ability to differentiate instruction for students of varying abilities while maintaining high academic rigor and expectations for all students
  6. Demonstrate strong classroom management skills with the use of positive behavior interventions
  7. Demonstrate professional work habits and conduct consistent with the ethics of the profession.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Wage is based on the agreement between Portland Public Schools and PCMI.
